Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
About the project
Reliving the magic of The Legend of Zelda, we challenge ourselves to reimagine and reinterpret one of Nintendo’s most iconic titles in image and animation.
In this reinterpretation, we delve deeply into the stunning settings and the universe full of adventures that only Zelda can offer. Idea, concept, assets used from banks, artificial intelligence and much more Photoshop on the nail, layer by layer!

Creative process
Concepts
This personal project was born from our desire to pay tribute to one of the most iconic game franchises of all time: The Legend of Zelda. More than just a fan art piece, this was our opportunity to imagine what a live-action adaptation could look like through our own artistic and creative vision.
Before creating a single pixel, we immersed ourselves in the world of Zelda, studying its atmosphere, art direction, lighting, color palette, and the visual identity that has made the franchise a timeless classic. From there, we began building every element of the scene, modeling the assets in 3D with Blender and crafting an entire digital world from the ground up.

Outputs
Final touches
For the final stage, Photoshop, Blender and After Effects became essential parts of our workflow, helping us blend every layer together while adding texture, depth, photographic finishing, and the realism needed to bring this tribute to life in a way that felt both cinematic and authentic.

Color palette
For the project’s visual direction, we aimed to create a color palette that felt both cinematic and timeless, capturing the magical atmosphere that has always defined The Legend of Zelda. The mood was built around the contrast between lush natural greens, earthy textures, and subtle golden highlights, reinforcing the sense of adventure, mystery, and ancient mythology.
Rather than simply recreating the game’s original visuals, our goal was to reinterpret its iconic universe through a realistic live-action lens. Every lighting decision, color relationship, and atmospheric detail was carefully designed to achieve a look & feel that felt immersive, grounded, and emotionally connected to the world that inspired generations of players.

Step by step
Photoshop layers
In this step-by-step breakdown, we reveal the full construction process behind our Legend of Zelda fan art piece, showing how the image was built layer by layer inside Photoshop.
From the first base elements to the final lighting, color grading, atmosphere, textures, and finishing touches, each layer played an essential role in shaping the final cinematic look. This breakdown allows us to show not only the technical process behind the image, but also the creative decisions that helped transform a simple composition into a fully immersive digital scene.
